Currently going ON:
In 1983, Michael Jackson's Thriller music video was released. Forty years later people are still learning the iconic choreography by Michael Peters. On Halloweens 2019 and 2021 we 'mobbed' Montpelier's downtown to such delight, it’ll no doubt be another good scream for the third go this year. Especially following Vermont’s disastrous flooding, coming together in the name of the Arts and honoring the shadows that come to play at the thin-veil time of Fall will be extra special.
Shannon Kelly and Emma Manion-Kohr will lead a series of rehearsals in the six weeks leading up to Halloween wherein you'll get a thrilling workout while memorizing those killer moves. The rehearsals will end with a flash mob-style performance on (blocked-off) Langdon street and we’ll be inviting fellow dance artists to present Hween-themed works as well.
On the eve of Fall’s Equinox come come delight in your local dance artists' premier works, excerpts, and works in progress for Emma's 4th curation of the I LOVE WHAT YOU’RE DOING showcase.
Admission will be by donations to go towards Vermont flood relief efforts at the door. We’ll rouse the community back together with Swing, Samba, Contemporary, Theater-Comedy, Belly Dance, and Tango numbers!
An evening of poetry, voice, movement and feeling.
Featuring performances by Denise Casey, Liesje Smith, C Green, Emma Manion and other special guests!
